Biography

Olga Ponomareva a virtuoso cellist, pianist, composer and singer. She is well-known for a very beautiful touching sound and brilliant performance. Olga was born into a musical family in Volgograd (Russia) in 1986. She was seriously trained in classical music from the age 8. At the of 13 she won a competition to perform as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra. As a child she won many prizes in regional and International Competitions such as New Names 2000 and Symphony 2002. Holder of a fellowship of the Culture Foundation of Russian Federation (2003).

Since 2006 Olga studied in Moscow Gnesin Academy of Music in a very strong Rostropovich tradition (her teacher studied with Mstislav Rostropovich). She also studied piano, chamber ensemble, composition at the Academy. In 2011 she got her Master`s degree. In 2013 Olga studied composition course (Vienna Music University).

Olga began her concert career at the age of 10. Olga has a passion for music and performed a lot of concerts as a part of chamber groups and as a soloist.
She performed in a well-know Halls in Moscow and jazz clubs. Also she participated in concert tours in Germany, Latvia, Hungary, Slovakia, Belorussia.
Olga has a rich performing experience in an international society. She is highly experienced and proficient not only at the standard classical repertoire, she is also performing different music styles as pop, pock, jazz and she is singing. She was working as part of a string quartet and as a soloist in Variety Shows on the Crystal Cruise in 2013- 2014 (USA). Since 2015 she is known as Ol.cello soloist. Also Olga has experience in teaching from 2004 to the present.
